Greetings Smart Set Sisters! I hope you have a fabulous time in NoLA at Conclave this year!
This past year, I designed a Pop of Color jewelry collection, which was inspired by my meditation practice and my African heritage. The mala-inspired necklaces celebrate tradition with a modern touch and this Smart Set version also celebrates our Smart Set sisterhood.
I hand knot 72 recycled glass African trade beads, handcrafted in the Krobo region of Ghana, onto crimson knotting cord and a Sterling silver clasp. Each necklace measures 34” in length and can be worn long or doubled as a choker. A crimson ribbon and 3” Sterling silver extender chain is also included with each necklace. (I am in the process of making a round Sterling silver pendant with the National Smart Set logo, which can be clipped onto the necklace with a lobster claw clasp. Let me know if this sounds interesting to you and I’ll keep you posted!)
Spiritually, the number 72 represents divine alignment, balance and transformation. Wear this necklace as a reminder to seek balance and harmony as you move through the various chapters life has to offer. You can also use this necklace in your meditation practice by holding each bead between your thumb and third finger, to repeat your mantra.
Please note: Since these beads are handmade, the inventory fluctuates from time to time. I will be happy to keep you abreast of inventory so you know when your necklace can be delivered!
